CivicFest was not officially part of the Republican National Convention, but seemed a complement not a counterpoint.

Many of its booths were selling right-wing t-shirts (see 134) and promoting the conservative agenda. I had a nice talk with Mr. Krull, during which the name New Gingrich was never mentioned though the idea proposed and the phrasing are Newts. I should have brought him up.
