Interview with Aaron Ferstman of YouTube
The 2008 campaign has been called "The YouTube Election" because so many people got news and reports via that site.
I think YouTube's influence was overrated, but there's no question that the ease of information available, and the ability
for almost anyone to provide information that could be seen by millions, changed how people viewed the candidates
and changed how the media reported on the campaign.
YouTube was at the Democratic Naitonal Convention, and was at the Republican National Convention. The YouTube booth
was inside several layers of security, and only delegates, guests and a fraction of the media could even get to the
booth. YouTube spokesman Aaron Ferstman helped people make videos and post them instantly.
