Riot Police Crowded in Street
see previous and next two
In this particular concrete canyon of downtown St. Paul, there were more riot police than people protesting the
Republican National Convention. There were too many police to form lines keeping the marchers in and the public out.
You can't see the protestors from this viewpoint, only a few signs above the heads of the massive police line in the background.
Everyone behaved well. From a distance, the protest march went on peaceably, and the police were disciplined and restrained.
It was warm a Labor Day afternoon; I was wearing shorts. Some of the police were standing in full armor for hours. I hope they were taken care of
after their shift.
